ABX Weight Bench

Wow... I've been looking for sometime now for a bench that can minimise my floor space but at the same time to be versatile and well built, all my research kept bringing me back to the ABX bench. My only hesitation was the cost and to be honest I thought it may have been a scam also, but after placing the order the package with all the additions arrived within 4 days. I was absolutely shocked just how quick it was and how well packaged also. After having set it up and used it, I can see why it's value is what it is but it would've been great if it was maybe $200 cheaper. Other than cost I'm trying to find some negatives in the purchase overall but don't have any. Very happy customer.

Was this cheap? No. Does it feel cheap? No. This beast of a bench is amazing! I can’t wait for the other accessories to come in so I can continue to play with it. The best part is how it will take my Tonal system workout to a whole new level. More to come but with just the bench and the leg developer has been a welcome addition to my home gym.

Absolutely love the bench. It’s everything I’ve wanted. I spent literally three months researching before I settled on this, and I feel like it was 100% the right decision. Fit and finish, quality, function. It has it all. 10 out of 10, would buy again.!

I absolutely love this thing!! My home gym is now complete! Been needing a way to do extensions and ham-curls without a bunch of setting up of the cable machines. My wife lives how easy it is to setup and move. It isn't flimsy like you get with other adjustable benches. It stays put and feels super secure. Benched 120lbs on incline the other day for the first time and it felt so stable even when I wasnt 😅 definitely have to add this to your gym setup!

Absolutely the best bench out there!! Very sturdy packaged well not a single blemish on it. Two things I would like to see is a decline setting for the seat and a plastic surround for the attachment port opening. I would also love to see a sturdy version of a lat pull-down attachment in the future to add to this, that could possibly attach to the leg developer as well.

Awesome bench. Huge amount of adjustability unlocking many exercises that are awkward on conventional benches like seal rows, overhead triceps and preacher curls. Got the bicep attachment which is great addition. I already pulled the trigger on a hyper pro months ago so have the leg developer there or would have also added that attachment. Super impressed again by build quality, usability and delivery speed and ease to assemble thanks to online step by step videos and packaging of parts. If anyone is pausing on the cost of this or ABX from my perspective these will be in my garage gym for life now so will pay back many times in the long run and motivate me now to train to have healthspan to enjoy them!!

So happy with my purchase! Was tired of waiting around for equipment or inconvenient hours of operation at our local gym, so decided to have a mini gym at home. Wanted a sturdy bench that not only worked good, but looked the part as well. And since I don’t have room for a lot of equipment, being able to have attachments is a bonus. Loving it so far and even have my wife working out on it now (and she hasn’t been to a gym in forever as she can’t stand that they blast the music).

Extremely happy with this bench. I was excited to use it for chest supported rows, but was surprised at how well it works. With the multiple adjustments it allows me to set it up so I can pick DBs up from the ground instead of doing the awkward shuffle straddling the bench with a DB in each hand to setup. Rock solid and very high quality. Assembly was pretty straightforward, though I would personally prefer a manual first approach with video to support if needed. Not a big deal overall, and very happy with the product.

This is better than any bench I’ve ever used at a commercial gym! You can tell this thing is made with quality as a priority, because it’s sturdy as a rock. I’m just starting to build the very basics of a beginner home gym, so my setup is still very minimalist. So a key consideration for me was versatility and expandability. The adjustable headrest is allowing me to do conveniently do so many more exercises, and although I haven’t purchased any attachments yet, I do like the fact that I have so many options to build off of this. I was a little hesitant at first to make my first bench purchase such a premium option, but I have zero regrets so far - I feel like I’m going to enjoy this bench for a long time!

Build quality is excellent. Very easy to put together. No issues with delivery. Very happy with my purchase. Also purchased the leg developer and ab developer. It’s been great using both. It’s apparent that the design was well thought out. I’m coming from a CENTR Bench and this is such a huge step up.

Bench quality surpassed my expectations. Very solidly built & great premium finish. The bench adjustment is quiet & smooth. Easy to setup out of the box. Zero-seat gap works perfectly, incline options are optimal. By far the best bench I’ve ever used or owned! No complaints, very high quality & worth the cost.

We’re really happy with the result and the overall quality of the bench. It feels very sturdy (sturdy enough to turn me upside down 😉). The only small downside was that the instructions didn’t really align with what we received, ladder system and head rest support still had to be installed which wasn’t reflected in the manual but it was easy to figure out. Overall, very satisfied!

The dip attachment I purchased separately is also a must as it is extremely sturdy with no wobble. I highly recommend adding to to your home gym setup!

I’ve been using a junky bench for years and finally splurged for a premium bench. The ABX has been great so far. The quality is great and I am loving the zero gap! Also I need to mention: I was really happy how Freak Athlete’s customer service kept me updated whenever there was a change in the pre-ordering timeline. It seems small, but it was greatly appreciated for such a large purchase personally.

Best bench I’ve ever used - very stable and comfy, just what you want for getting PB’s! The bench adjusts very smoothly and is an ideal width (with other benches I’ve used they tend to either be too wide or too narrow). I also ordered some attachment but they have been shipped separately and haven’t arrived yet, but I cannot wait as expect they will be of the same quality!

I honestly can’t say enough good things about my ABX Leg Developer and Weight Bench. I’ve spent a lot of time building out my home gym, and these are two pieces of equipment that I genuinely look forward to using every week. The ABX Leg Developer has completely elevated my lower-body training. Previously had the Rep Blackwing but decided to sell it because my wife couldn’t move it easily due to how heavy it was. After doing some research I ended up deciding on picking up the ABX and have been really happy with my decision. It is significantly easier to move around which my wife enjoys and the build quality is top notch. The adjustable headrest has added some nice variety to my routines and the automatic seat adjust to keep the gap minimal is definitely superior to the system on the Blackwing. I plan on adding some attachments down the road but even without them just the bench itself is definitely worth picking up.

Easy setup compared to previous benches I’ve assembled. On the stiffer side when it comes to padding but I’m appreciating the stability of the stiffer padding. Plus the attachments that come with it really make it convenient for space in my garage when I’m done with my workout. Last but at least it’s just a sexy looking bench.

Just got it and replaced the REP Zerogap. Solid build. For now I like it better than the Rep as it has the adjustable head piece and seems sturdier, although the new rep benches have the same build. Got it for the leg developer attachment which is pretty decent. REP attachment was pretty expensive so went with a new setup with FA. Definitely would recommend!

The attachments are not cheap, so I'm going to be very particular about which i get. For example, I'd love the leg developer but can't bring myself to pay $400 + shipping. The sit-up attachments is a good enough value, and i love declined setups. I would recommend this to anyone with the ABX bench!

I’m really impressed with the ABX bench and all of the attachments. The build quality is excellent, everything feels solid and well-made, and the setup gives me a ton of different exercise options without taking up a lot of space. I really like how versatile the ABX is. Having all the attachments gives me the ability to work different muscle groups and change up my workouts without needing a bunch of separate equipment. Everything has been working great so far, and the bench feels very stable and comfortable during my workouts. For anyone putting together a home gym, especially with limited space, I would definitely recommend the ABX. I’m very happy with the purchase and feel like I got a lot of equipment in one setup.

I was really torn between this and a couple others. What won for me was the overall customer service and responsiveness, better value of the ABX, and the ability to do forward facing seated cable rows wit the headrest folded. No attachments needed for that but attachment compatibility beats anyone else. Build quality is spot on, packaged nicely and arrived halfway across the country in 3 days. Couldn't ask for more.

I recently upgraded the bench in my home gym to the Freak Athlete ABX Bench, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision. The first thing that stood out to me was the build quality. This thing feels like a true commercial grade bench. It’s heavy, extremely solid, stable under load, and the frame and adjustment mechanisms feel like they were built to last. The padding is also excellent, thick, supportive, and much higher quality than what I’ve experienced with typical home gym benches. The adjustability is probably my favorite part. There are a ton of different positions available, but one of the biggest reasons I personally bought the ABX was the independently adjustable upper portion of the bench. That extra section opens up exercise positions that you simply can’t get from a traditional two pad adjustable bench and gives me a lot more versatility in my home gym. I also really like that the ABX is designed around attachments. Instead of eventually needing several different pieces of equipment, I can continue adding functionality to the bench. I purchased the ABX sit up attachment as well, and it feels fantastic, secure, comfortable, and exactly how I hoped it would feel for decline sit ups and ab work. Overall, the ABX feels less like a piece of home gym equipment and more like something you would expect to find in a high end commercial gym. It’s strong, highly adjustable, comfortable, expandable, and extremely versatile. For anyone building a serious home gym and looking for one bench that can do a lot more than the average adjustable bench, I absolutely recommend the ABX. This was a great upgrade for my setup and easily one of my favorite pieces of equipment in the gym.

Honestly was so offput by the price at first - only reason i bought it was because i read that this and the rep had by far the best leg developer attachment on the market. After I finally put everything together, im so hyped 😂. The bench is so smooth and solid. As someone whos just had commercial gym benches as reference, i feel like i cant go back 😭.

Couldn’t be happier with this bench, having already owning and using the hyper pro I knew the build quality is incredible. My previous bench being a blk box which had been great. I just feel FA understands the versatility and multi functional aspect that small home gym owners need.

The standout for me is that I feel tension throughout the ROM with both leg extensions and hamstring curls. Anything I’ve used at a commercial gym has either reduced tension at the top or bottom. I feel like I’m getting more out of my sets. Setup is also very easy, a lot less complicated than it looked to me at first.

I'm a big review person. I rarely write reviews myself, but I always read a lot of them before buying anything. This time, though, I decided to give something back. In the past, I always had three benches in my home gym: a flat bench, an adjustable bench, and a half bench. When REP released the BlackWing with the ZeroGap system, I thought it would solve all my problems. So I sold two of my three benches and bought the BlackWing because of the ZeroGap feature... and in the end, I sold it because of that very same feature. Don't get me wrong,the BlackWing is an absolute monster. It's huge, incredibly solid, and built like a tank. But manually adjusting the gap really drove me crazy. Many times I couldn't adjust the back pad because the seat was too close, and the locking bolt on the side would get stuck. It became frustrating over time. Then I found the ABX, and it solved not only the issue with the gap adjustment, but it also allowed me to sell my half bench because the ABX can be used as one as well. I really like it. It's still heavy, solid, and feels extremely well built, but it's lighter than the BlackWing, which is actually a big advantage because I move my bench around the gym quite often. I also purchased the preacher curl attachment. As others have mentioned in their reviews, it has a slight wobble, but it's absolutely usable, and since it's adjustable, I'm very impressed with it as well. The only thing I would change is the wheel covers. They extend a little too far below the wheels. When you lift the bench to move it, you have to keep it fairly low otherwise the covers gonna hit the floor. This makes it a bit harder to maneuver in tight spaces, especially for taller users. That said, this is only a minor issue and definitely not enough to take away a star. This bench easily deserves 5 stars. I absolutely love it.

I’ve been lifting weights on and off most of my life. I’ve had my own gym room for the past 10 years. This is the best bench I’ve ever owned! It is well made and SOLID. The cushions are made to last, not too soft or too firm. I had a professional grade bench prior but was attracted to the versatility of the FA ABX. It hasn’t disappointed me. The bicep attachment was also a great addition. Great job FA!

I recently received my new abx bench and already love it. Bench was easy to assembly and feels very sturdy. Zerocap feature was one of The reasons I bought this bench and its awesone. I have strong feeling that I'll have many good years with this bench!

I’ve only used the ABX Weight Bench a few times so far, but I’m happy with it overall. Assembly was straightforward. The only minor issue was that the instruction video is missing the first two assembly steps. Fortunately, I found a more complete video on YouTube, so it wasn’t a big problem. The biggest downside was the delivery. I had to wait about a month for it to arrive, and during shipping the bags containing the bolts and screws had torn open, so everything was scattered inside the box. Luckily, nothing was missing and all the parts were there. Overall, the bench feels solid and well built, and I’m satisfied with the quality. Time will tell how well it holds up with regular use, but my first impressions are very positive.

Shipping: Box is really well wrapped and items were fully secured. Assembly: Instructions could be a little more clear, but because the bench comes 75% assembled it wasn't that bad. Final Product: This bench is beautiful. It's built like a tank and stores away nicely. Only worry is about the seat cushion. The rub might impact durability. Overall it's a quality bench.

I initially left a 1-star review due to poor customer service and significant shipping delays. However, after finally receiving the bench and putting it to use, it’s simply too good not to update my rating. This is a stellar product — innovative, well-built, and genuinely one of the best benches on the market. It doesn’t hurt that the CEO personally reached out to apologize for the customer service issues and delays. That kind of accountability says a lot about a growing company that’s focused on creating truly outstanding equipment. I can’t recommend this bench enough. Highly impressed with the final product!

Definitely a step up from my super heavy adjustable bench that I’ve had for years. The ABX bench is really a step up. I love the attachments and the fact that it can easily turn into an upright, low back bench for dumbbell presses. Night and day difference from my old bench. Can’t wait to see what accessories come out in the future, if you guys could do a foot plate for seated cable rows that would be a game changer! Freak Army all the way!!

So I'm going to be completely honest. I bought the ABX to replace the Rep AB-5200 v2. That bench was the most high end, creme de la creme bench I've ever owned. The ABX does not meet that standard...but it's close. The problem with the AB-5200 is that it was just too big for me, heavy to move around, and didn't have any type of bench eco-system. The ABX fits me so much better. The zero gap is great. I love that I can bend the head rest down, and love the versatility. I'm very happy and glad I made the switch. I'm 5'9" and 155lbs and the ABX fits my needs perfectly. I'm excited to build out the ecosystem.

Finally decided to get into the habit and make me a modest little setup at home. I’m a new dad and managing my time with physical fitness in my routine is a massive work in progress but I’m happy that I feel like I’ve taken a step in the right direction by buying an ABX adjustable bench! It truly is zero gap and a very premium feeling workhorse of a bench!

This bench is amazing. They did a fantastic job designing every aspect about it. The padding is firm without being too firm. The vinyl is nice and grippy. My bench ended up getting damaged during shipping, however freak athletes customer support were totally understanding and sent me replacement parts fixing all the pieces I had issues with. Overall I am really impressed with the bench and their support team.

My husband had been wanting one for a while so the kids wanted to get it for him for Father’s Day. He was so excited when he got it. He told me all the wonderful features and said it was a true no gap bench, etc. He has LOVED it! It’s nicely weighted so it doesn’t move around when he is doing his routines. His last one was half duct taped together and he had to tie weights to it so it wouldn’t move. Thoroughly impressed with the ABX!

Excellent bench environment! I was eying ABX for almost a year and was waiting to after my wedding to pull a trigger. It is excellent! Pads are just soft enough (even my partner approves), moves around with ease and stored vertically. Main selling points for me were leg curl/ extension attachment connective with cable machine and pad dropping in half. Leg curl/ extension is just amazing. I was afraid that 100kg stack (2:1 ratio) may not be enough but surprisingly I only needed 60kg (30kg felt?) for a solid 12 reps extension set. The stretch on the beginning of the movement on both exercises is just excellent. Preparing the attachment also takes literally 1 minute to use including connecting to cable. Biceps attachment is the second favourite one. Perfect isolator for single hand cable movements with my dap. Very happy customer here!

5 stars , it took me 20minutes to put together, all parts easily identified. First used for shoulder presses no interference with head rest down, then did shoulder flys and chest supported rows no problem. Way above expectations. I picked the ABX over other benches for a quality product. Excellent customer service

My home gym lacked 1 thing, a quality bench. Well I found it. My wife gave me the second degree when she saw the charge on the card but she admitted once she saw it and used it, well worth the money. Now just waiting on my attachments to arrive. Very pleased.

I’m a music producer who doesn’t have much room left in my apartment. As you can see I’m able to swap out the bulky dip bars for a more streamlined dip attachment for this bench. The bench design fits my aesthetic in the studio and I’m able to expand my workouts all while keeping the footprint small. It’s a sturdy bench and straight forward to put together. Shipping was secure, intact and arrived within a week. Really impressed, it’s my first bench but I’ve been researching for months.. I’m glad I decided to get this one.

What an investment this is…. I’m going to save a fortune on gym memberships by having this one bit of kit to go with my dumbbells at home. The material feels really nice and the quality is very good. I’ve bought many benches in the past, but this one is by far the best.

Just built this bad boy and had my first chest and shoulder workout and BY GODDDDD. It is incredibly!!! You won't slip, you have one of the best firm paddings and will have great grounding on them lifts! Truly an upgrade from what I had as you can see. I highly recommend it to anyone who has started their home gym and want to slowly upgrade things around it. This is definitely the first stop!

After investing a fair amount of money into my home gym I was on the hunt for a good professional sturdy bench. I spent hours researching and trying different benches but nothing seemed right. Then I came across the ABX on a social media site. I thought yeah right another over hyped internet sensation. I read other reviews and thought well it all looks good and with the money back guarantee they offer I decided to go for it. I took advantage of the special deal at the time and ordered all the accessories. Thinking well if I don’t use them all at least I’ve got them just in case. I’ll be honest it took awhile for the products to ship and I was starting to get anxious. But as promised they arrived in the time frame specified at the time of order. I followed the assembly instructions for each item, which to be fair was straightforward. Upon assembly I could see that this is a very well built machine and accessories. The quality is outstanding and the comfort is also too. I can see that this will last for years. I’ve been using it now for a few months and I’m so pleased with it all. I weigh in at 100 kgs and even when I’m loading up with weights it doesn’t creek or crack. All the accessories fit on with no effort and work well. Have to say 10 out of 10. Well done guys.

Goal: reduce or delay sarcopenia. Purchasing a utility bench with my original power rack was a mistake. No flexibility. Needed an adjustable bench. Didn't want an "inexpensive" bench but didn't want to break the bank. The ABX was one of the benches I researched and came out the winner. I'm impressed with it's flexibility especially the conversion to a "half" bench. Bench is high quality and easy to move around and use. Shipping was normal and well done. They shipped 2 benches by mistake but customer service took care of the problem immediately. Bottom line I'm very satisfied with the quality of the bench and look forward to adding devices in the future. I'm excited about using this bench as part of my goal.

I am extremely happy with this bench. I was on the fence about the ABX. It was a close recision between this bench and the rep nightwing. I ended up up picking the ABX because of its potential flexibility in multiple configurations for many more exercise movements. It came quickly and I had no issues with its condition upon arrival. About a month in and this bench has gotten a lot of use. Assembly was quick with no frustration, no missing hardware, and straightforward instructions. I did spot a small cosmetic issue right away and reached out, and the team got back to me quickly and offered either a replacement part or a partial refund. Didn’t have to fight for it at all! Working with a small 8’ x 13’ gym space means I can’t just keep adding equipment. The attachment system on this bench solves that as it covers movements that would otherwise require separate, bulky pieces of equipment. It’s made my small space feel a lot more capable without crowding it. And when I was comparing it to similar benches, the half bench conversion is what ultimately sealed the deal. No one else I looked at offered that. Overall, it’s rock solid during heavy lifts, it’s the perfect height whether I’m pressing, rowing, or doing step-ups, and when I need the floor back it takes seconds to move out of the way. Really happy with this bench. It’s become the piece everything else in my gym will be built around as I revamp it including the white and black theme!

The ABX bench has been a great addition to my small home gym. I love the ability to store it upright and fold it for chest-supported exercises makes it incredibly versatile without taking up much space. The build and material quality are excellent. Just a couple of things to be aware of: if you live above the first floor, keep in mind it's quite heavy to haul up stairs upon delivery. And as a woman, I was initially worried it would be too heavy to lift into the upright storage position, but it's actually manageable once you get used to it. Also, be mindful when rolling it on hard floors as the wheels can cause scratches. Overall, highly recommend it!

I bought an ABX Weight Bench set including the leg developer. Packaging was solid and not a single part was damed in transport. The assembly instructions were clear and easy to follow. Pads are super comfortable and huge upgrade compacted to my old bench, far better than my nearby gym equipment. The whole design gives impression of solid and thoughtful design process. I can surely recommend my experience so far after few days of using it

Beautiful piece of equipment. One of the first pieces to go in the gym im setting up. And for good reason. It has multiple attachments ill be able to expand to/add on as i build the gym, like the leg trainer. Can tell a lot of thought and engineering went into this with how the zero gap and hinge works to slide the seat out of the way. The build quality is excellent, with knurling on the knobs and grips. The pull spring pins are tactile and robust. And the ability to fold down the back is a great feature. Exactly what I was looking for in an adjustable bench. Thank you.

I've only just assembled this, but I can already tell that it's a huge upgrade from my 40 year old bench made from 1 inch steel with 1/2 inch of padding that was common for all cheap home benches back then. I've used it just once so far and it was great, I'll still need to get to grips with all the new possibilities that it opens up for me. Can't wait to be using this on a regular basis.

Big upgrade from my previous zero gap bench. It's impressive how much lighter it is and significantly easier to move around. As such, I'm using it for so many other options because I no longer dread dragging around my heavy bench just to move it around again. The military press and chest supported rows unlocked new exercises that previously were just not possible. Also, the notched adjustment on the angle adjustment is a much better design than a previous push pin. Easy, fast adjustments! All in all a huge upgrade over any flat bench. It's just a well thought out bench with a quality construction. The black and white paint also matches perfect with my rep fitness rack.

The best part is the ecosystem and flexibility - I have been using the adjustable back for seal rows and preachers. Overall it has a premium feel, doesn’t wobble, and looks great in the gym. For anyone building out a home setup, it’s a strong value for quality.

One bench to rule them all! When I first put the bench together I have to admit I wasn’t massively impressed considering the price but once I used it for the first time I quickly realised it was worth every penny. It feels great under your back on bench press. For me it’s the perfect width to get my elbows deep and have a good stretch on my chest and still feels fully supported where it needs to be. I also didn’t really understand the selling point of the true zero gap until I used it and felt the difference from my standard bench, it just makes the whole exercise feel better. Preacher curl doesn’t seem like It would be very effective on first look but once you get the angles right for yourself it’s perfect, only improvement they could make would be to add and attachment to the bottom support bar for some arms to rest the bar when not curling. I found the jammers arms on my rack to be useful and works great. There’s a review on here talking about the width of the pad being wide for quads which it is, it’s quite difficult to get a sitting position but sitting in a wider legged incline frog type position solves this and I found gets more focus on the biceps, I got a really good pump from it. Sit up attachment clicks a little bit when in use but that’s expected with the up and down movement and the weight, i think it’s the top section moving for the half bench. I like to do decline Tricep extensions so it would have been good if the bottom pad (seat area) would go into full decline mode for a full straight decline bench but the extension can still be achieved. Dip bar is solid and you get very little wobble / movement when in use which I was expecting it to be really unstable to be honest but I have a dip horn attachment for my 60mm box section rack and the freak athlete dip attachment on the bench is far more stable and feels superior. The leg attachment seemed strange at first sitting at the top of the bench with it slightly declined. Thought I wouldn’t get much isolation on the legs with no back support but works great, get good stretch and tension and I actually found not having back support enabled me to lean back and hold my abs tight which turned into a really hardcore compound abs and legs work out. Looked strange but was really effective and who cares about something looking strange in a home gym. What I found most surprising and what is probably my most favourite aspect of the bench is the ability to turn it into a half bench. I’ve never actually seen any other half benches or used one but the impact it has on my Tricep exercises is phenomenal it’s something I never knew I needed but has transformed my Tricep workouts. I’m actually blown away by it and I would say the cost of the bench alone is worth it just for the half bench capability. I can get into all sorts of positions to get isolated tricep movements with free weights and my cable machine. There’s so many ways this bench can be put to use and you’ll come up with your own new workouts which target exactly what you want them to. Even with all the moving parts and functions the commercial grade quality is kept though out every bit of the equipment. Assembly is a bit of a pain, more than you want for a bench but it’s also much more than just a bench. Freak Athlete could improve on the assembly instruction videos though, make them a little more detailed and include pdf document that shows each of the screw types and where they go. For example, the video for the bench starts at step 1 which is actually step 2 and some of the bolt packages are labelled incorrectly but it’s nothing that a little common sense doesn’t solve + if you have the leg attachment there is 2 longer screws that go into the handles which attach to the side of the bench but when you put the white metal FA logo parts on the bench itself there is 10 screws in a pack 4 are long and 6 are short but there is no indication that the 4 longer screws are needed for where the handles go for the leg attachment so you can end up having to swap them around when putting the handles on which is minor but it’s still an inconvenience that could be avoided with better assembly instructions. You really do get what you pay for with this equipment and I would recommend it everyone. Really glad I purchased it after a week consideration should have just purchased it straight away.

I’m blown away by how much value this bench delivers for the price. Calling it “just a bench” doesn’t even do it justice, it’s more like having multiple benches in one. You can adjust it to flat, incline, military press and row with the base bench not including attachments, which completely opens up your workout options without needing separate equipment. The build quality feels solid and stable, even under heavier weight, so there’s no wobble or cheap feel to it. The padding is comfortable but still firm enough to support proper lifting, and the adjustments are quick and easy to switch between sets. What really stands out is how much you’re getting for what you pay. Instead of buying multiple benches or upgrading later, this one covers it all right out of the box. It’s perfect whether you’re setting up a home gym or just looking to upgrade your current setup. Overall, this feels like a “champion” piece of equipment, versatile, durable, and extremely cost effective when you consider everything this bench can do. Definitely one of those purchases where you feel like you got way more than you paid for. PS incredible space saver for the garage gym.

Best piece of gym equipment I’ve ever bought! We recently moved and downsized. My gym went from a Marcy smith cage, dumbbells and cardio equipment in a basement to a 12x12 room. I did my research and I wanted a bench that could supplement my dumbbell workout with leg work and more. Well I found that in the Freak Athlete ABX weight bench with every attachment they make for it. It fits my space perfectly and gives me the workout I’m looking for. Hands down the best bench and attachments on the market if you are looking to build out your home gym.

I’ve never owned a better bench for my home gym. There’s zero wobble when I’m doing anything at flat or at an incline. The bicep attachment is really much better than I expected. There’s a small amount of wobble, but compared to my previous bench’s preacher curl attachment, this is nothing. It’s as good as anything I’ve used at a gym. The no-gap seat is also really nice. It feels as though I’ve got the best of all worlds because the flat setting feels like a true flat bench, the incline is incredibly versatile, and the folding headrest is great for when I want to do seated OHP. I think some things that don’t get enough praise are the assembly and the packing. It doesn’t matter which local carrier delivers my packages because they all look beaten up. FA really went the extra mile to ensure that things were delivered intact. The little wooden reinforcements made sure that nothing arrived bent or broken. I sincerely appreciate that level of extra care. The other thing that deserves more love is the ease of assembly. It arrives with all the tools that you need to assemble the bench and the parts are packaged step by step like in the picture. It took me 20 minutes to unbox and assemble everything, and the instructions were remarkably clear. I’d say that I’d buy this again, but I think it may outlast me.

The ABX is definitely the highest quality bench I’ve owned for my home gym. I haven’t gotten to use it yet since I’m recovering from rotator cuff surgery, but that’s why I bought this bench with the leg developer. Assembly was super easy, even with one arm! Can’t wait to get some workouts in with this bench!

Been lifting for 28 years and moved around a lot. It's fair to say I've seen a ton of different benches; some good, some real bad. This bench is by far the best. It is easy to put together and quality construction. The versatility is outstanding, especially for a home gym, but it would be great in any setting. Definitely worth the purchase - highly recommend!

Just got my ABX bench in the mail. Just like every single FA product I own, it is extremely well made - durable, sturdy, easy to move around despite being heavy, and very well-engineered. I am trained as a product development engineer and my hat goes off to every product these guys make. Huge fan.

First it would help emensly to win I'm a 65 years old disabled veteran on S.S. with heart failure. I was told that increase my mobility and exercise for a longer life. So I search the Internet for a machine that is reasonably priced and could do more than a stand alone equipment.The choice was easy. Freakathlete was my choice. I purchased the Abx and Hyperpro. I just received the leg developer in a huge box . I opened it to see multiple parts and no paper instructions.So at my age panic set in. However there was a laminated Card which guides you to a barcode via the Internet for directions on how to construct this equipment. Was I impressed this video was so easy my granddaughter could put it together."Great Job Freakathlete" Can't wait for the rest of my equipment.

No selfies with the ABX bench, but here’s a pic fresh after assembly! The process went smoothly — at least according to hubby, who did all the work while I supervised from the couch with snacks. 😝 My contributions? Moral support and the occasional “are you sure that goes there?”, and a very thorough quality-control test (I sat on it for 20 minutes 💪). Solid, sturdy, and beautiful. 10/10 bench, 10/10 husband.

I've been waiting for this, 'cause I have some neck issues and the only way I can stand doing bicep curls is supported. Very good for preacher curls, too, also as a substitution for floor presses. Overall, great idea, unfortunately execution needs a great deal of improvement. It's quite unstable, moving in all directions. Maybe if you (FA) find some way of implementing the locking pins/screw you use on the Hyper Pro, a lot of people will appreciate it much better. Now the only thing fixing it being 3+2 pins, and nothing actually locking anything into position, it's bound to be unstable, by design. Hope you'll find some solution to this in the future. Keep up the good work.

I'm very glad that I received my adjustable bench + 2 attachments. Looking forward to receiving the bicep attachment specifically, and the leg developer, of course. The only two things I don't appreciate is the rollers don't activate earlier (this way I have to always use two hands and brace my core, as if I were a heavy lifter [now, maybe that was the whole idea :) Still... don't get it why you didn't use the same principles as with the Hyper Pro rollers]), and the lateral handles (what are they for?! in some of the previous versions there was just a bolt there, as it should be...) get in the way of whatever exercise I try using the inclined upper portion of the bench - dumbbell rows, chest supported curls... whatever, the dumbbells hit the handles, NOT the rails as many reviewers point out in there videos). The rest is very good. Allows for diversity and inventiveness thanks to the bench's flexibility.

This was a very time-consuming assembly despite what the video shows you Compared to the other add-ons to this bench. Leg extension works very well, but leg curls be careful. That middle piece catches on your knee cap or nuts when getting off. The middle beam That supports your top cushioning is in a bad place. They should’ve made it more flush or below the padding so getting on and off this I don’t have to worry about bruising my knees or catching my nut sack on my way off. Great quality overall. this bench has a lot of utility, but this piece is my least favorite in design out of everything else. Now I have to go ice my knees after getting off.

I love the ABX! BUT, it would be really nice to have a ez curl bar holder that could be put into the sit-up or dip attachment plugs in.

Great edition to my little garage gym. I like that it stores upright and saves space. Feels pretty solid on all the movements I like. The adjustable head rest can be a little finicky to get into position (might be user error). Overall great adjustable bench.

Just received the ab developer attachment for my FA bench. Quality materials and easy directions. It does cause some pressure on my aging knees but I think using it and stretching out my knee joints will help.

Very good quality! We are happy we chose this bench, but.. only a small but. The tutorial is skipping the first two steps of assembly. I wish you would update the assembly tutorial for a full version. Everything else is top notch

Very excited to upgrade from my simple bench into this full ecosystem. Just unboxed it and ran through my first few workouts. Unboxing was straightforward and assembly was even easier. The build quality feels premium, and all the mechanics and adjustments operate smoothly. A full decline option would be nice, but I doubt it will impact my training much. Can’t wait to see how this beast performs as I put it through its paces.

I am giving 4 stars to catch the eyes of the developers for product improvement. I would actually rate this bench 10 of 10 stars if available. Absolutely solid piece of equipment! The cable option on the leg developer is next level for creating fluid motion and weight observance through the entire range of motion. If I have one criticism for future development and improvement of the product; I purchased the bicep attachment with the idea that I would be able to do preacher curls with my chest to the back pad. However, the back pad is so wide that it absolutely cuts into anyone with quads. The lower back portion of the back pad needs to have an hourglass cut to allow legs to comfortably position themselves during reversed seating. This shouldn’t effect the ergonomics of the bench as most presses cause the back to arch over that portion of the bench and not require as much support. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. Would recommend to anyone and given the choice I would purchase again.

The bench arrived with a missing washer underneath the seat/on the piston that’s part of the zero gap system. Disappointing as there is not an easy way to remove the necessary bolt to add the required washer. I’m concerned that over time the pressure of the seat on the now-floating piston will bend it and ultimately cause it not to move back and forth smoothly. When I reached out to customer service they said they’d reimburse me for the washer but I’m still bummed it came without a rather necessary piece, and one that is difficult to install myself.

Good idea but the sit up attachment moves too much at the second picture. Way too much. Disappointing

I find the bicep attachment quite impressive. However, during preacher curl exercises, the attachment tends to move a lot and wiggle while performing the exercise. Additionally, I wish there was a way to slightly raise the seat for preacher curls. Perhaps I should experiment with the angles. I’m 5’8” with a short torso.

Good adjustable bench. A little wobbly. Wish there was a Nordic attachment or something for legs under $100 because this piece is pricey.

The plate-loading pin on the Leg Developer has completely broken. I've attached photos showing the damage. I was using standard 1-inch plates, which are explicitly supported by the product (the 2-inch Olympic adapter screws off for exactly this purpose). This happened under completely normal use. I want to be straightforward: I'm a loyal Freak Athlete customer. I own both the Hyper Pro and the ABX bench, and I'm a big fan of both. That's what makes this so frustrating. This is a premium-priced attachment to an already expensive bench, and having a core structural component snap after less than a month of normal use is not acceptable at this price point. I understand you offer a lifetime warranty covering manufacturing defects and structural integrity under normal use. This clearly qualifies. I also know your products tend to be backordered, but given that this is a defective unit that failed almost immediately, I expect a replacement to be prioritized and shipped as quickly as possible.

It's a very good, well thought out piece of equipment. Allows me to have a pretty versatile portable gym in the back of my truck I dub, the Tesla gym, which is important because I travel every week for work. Why I take a star away, the pad is too firm. It's probably 9/10 in firmness and I'd prefer 7 or 8/10 for heavy presses and especially for chest supported rows. It's also somewhat wobbly in the seat when doing military press. The seat should also be able to decline and it seems like an oversight that it doesn't, but they must have a reason. While not perfect, none are and after extensive searching, I do think it's better than other options due to its size and useful configurations without and with attachments. I personally value the gapless design as well because I'm a tall bodybuilder and gaps between pads are a non starter for me.

It’s a cool idea but it’s kind of a pain to attach and set up as a preacher curl pad. The pads get in the way of the non captive pins so you have extra steps to get the pins in and out which is annoying.

The good: solid quality on the padding lots of cool features and attachments. The bad: it’s pretty heavy. The ugly: it came with a bent front foot I emailed them about it and they put me on a video call with their engineer which turned out to be an Indian guy that told me I can hit it with a hammer until it’s straight. And they’d give me a 50 dollar refund after I did that. This is not a cheap bench. For the price tag it shouldn’t come with defects and or better solutions to fix these problems.

Bench arrived damaged from the factory. Shipping box was immaculate. I’m always weary when buying imported manufactured goods as their quality control is always questionable at the factory. Other than that, the bench appears to be very well designed, but I have no idea how long it will take me to get a replacement part as these were on, pre-order when I bought them. I will update my review once the replacement is received. Just a reminder to everyone who purchases this bench to do a thorough inspection during the unboxing before you begin the assembly process.

Putting it together was easy! Allen wrenches provided didn’t always fit the parts but I had my own so no big deal. Can’t wait to start using it.

I was pretty sure when I pre ordered this there was supposed to be a belt squat function that’s not there. Assembly was easy seems well made haven’t used it yet just doing this review for a chance to get a refund. My dog enjoyed the box

Overall pretty stable. Would not recommend the sit up attachment. Would recommend the dip attachment.

I like the leg developer, for support, I can use the handles, the rack columns, the bench, i.e. I can use my imagination. It provides numerous adjustments, therefore flexibility and versatility. What I don't like, is the cable does not come provided with the LDA. I don't understand this. Who pays thousands of dollars and doesn't wanna pay 50 more to get this great functionality - attaching it to a cable machine? It should come as an included option, and if the buyer doesn't want it, he/she would be able to uncheck the box, not the other way round, 'cause now it's a pain in the ankle for me to get those small parts separately..., wasted time, money, unpleasant emotions/useless frustration...

I can finally train legs like a normal human being thanks to the leg developer. Doesn't take up much space so it can be placed in a corner and won't be a hassle. First time using it, the padding for hamstring curls are in my opinion a bit to hard amd caused discomfort, will probably (hopefully) go away once I get used how to properly use it. I was dissapointed once I found out that the belt squat feature got removed, was looking forward to using it. But after reading online it got removed because it wasn't really working. Still a really good attachment and will recommend anyone who wants to start a home gym to buy these attachments and bench!

This review is for the sit-up attachment only- I find it very useful but I feel as though some things can be improved upon. I find it difficult to get my legs into at times, I do wish the rollers were in a better position similar to decline ab benches you see elsewhere that don't require as much knee flexion and are less dependent on leg length. The attachment does slide into the bench well and does as it is supposed to, but I feel as though future versions could be improved upon

The ABX weight bench has been a great addition to my weight room. It's very versatile and fits all my weightlifting needs. The top piece of the bench that folds to provide chest support is very sturdy and allows for rows as scene in the picture. All in all I'm pretty happy except I'm not able to perform decline bench on it as far as I know.

Really nicely made bench. Feels sturdy and adjusts very easily. The zero gap is very slick and the bench pad itself feels wide. I am genunely impressed. The only reason this is not 5 stars is the construction instructions did not match the product, so there were two stages that needed to be attached. However, these were pretty straightforward.

Won't name names, but what we were using for quad extensions really bothered my husband's knee and the ABX leg developer doesn't!
